Willow Weaving Workshop
(Dragonfly)
Experience Willow weaving under and around the encampment of Vidor Vidor (the name is from old Norse, meaning Willow, the forest warrior) from Svartland Vikings. You'll spend an hour (may be more if required) making at least three bodies for the dragonflies and shown how to attach the wings. The activity is suitable for those with little or no experience of willow weaving. The age is from 13 and above, however, those aged below 18 need to be accompanied by an adult, to help out. Good coordination is required.
Is it a dragonfly, butterfly or is it a weathervane?
These willow creations can be used to show which way the wind is blowing. Placed in a bamboo cane they will rotate to face the wind direction.
Normally it takes two to three attempts to make a reasonable looking dragonfly. You get to take all three home with you. Though you might not wish to carry the dragonflies home with the wings on, as they take up less space.
It's an amazing experience under one of the best instructors I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He even got our 21month old to help make a unicorn so we cannot, personally, recommend this experience enough. Chris made our little one a dragonfly when she was 1 and she still loves it to this day.
The session will last max 1 hour 45 min and will start at 16:00 and finish by 17:45 Saturday 27th July 2024.

The workshop will start promptly at 16:00. Please arrive on time for the workshop as arriving late may impact your ability to keep up with the group or may lead to missing out on some of the fun as you can lost your space if you're more than 15min late.
T&Cs
You must be 13 or older to join this workshop. If you are under 18, you will need to be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop.
You must hold a valid Festival ticket for the day you are joining the workshop. You cannot attend any workshops or participate in any activities without a ticket that gains you entrance to the festival on the given day.
Upon purchase, you'll receive your payment/booking confirmation. You'll be on an access list when you partake so you just need proof that you're who booked when attending the experience and sign in with Wayne directly before the workshop.
You may be able to join on the day if there are any spaces left or if there are any last minute cancellations, however please note that this is very unlikely. Just ask at the workshop entrance if there are still any spaces available.
Chris reserves the right to deny participation to anyone he deems unsuitable to take part due to, but not limited to, attitude, state of sobriety, age, inadequate supervision. If you are deemed unsuitable to participate for any reason, you will not receive a refund so please arrive in an adequate state to be a part of the workshop.
