Suruna Drumming Circle
Join Chaka Schipper, an artivist and space holder, celebrated for his work as a drummer, keeper of the resonance and Ethno-Therapist. Currently the drummer for renowned band Heilung, this is a fantastic opportunity for an amazing experience in the SURUNA drumming circle. You are required to bring a drum (options below if you don't have one) but you do not have to be a drummer to join!
Rhythm is at the core of who we are—our heartbeat, our breath, and even the natural cycles that govern our lives all move in rhythm with the universe. The drum is a powerful tool that symbolizes this rhythm, acting as a bridge between your inner world and the flow of life around you. It helps reconnect you with your Awareness of these natural rhythms, supporting the balance and Rest we often seek but struggle to find.
During this event, you will be guided through techniques designed to help you synchronize with your inner vibration and the rhythm of life itself. These methods are not just about playing the drum—they’re about releasing blockages, finding your flow, and aligning with your Purpose. Through focused drumming, breathwork and mindful interactions with the community, you’ll be shared on how to cultivate and maintain this sense of balance long after the event ends.
Chaka Schipper, will share insights drawn from his own journey and from the wisdom of both South American and European traditions. Raised in the Andean mountains of Ecuador and now living in Denmark, Chaka brings together the sharings of ancient Andean cosmovision and drumming techniques. His personal path through healing and reconnection will guide you through a transformative experience that empowers you to reconnect not only with your drum ( or any tool you use for a leaving) but with the deepest aspects of yourself and the world around you.
This experience is open to all levels and backgrounds—whether you're seeking inner balance, a new way to connect with your Purpose, or simply a moment of Interaction with like-minded individuals, this event is designed to leave you feeling empowered and in tune with your true rhythm.

SURUNA is designed through the lens of the ARPI method – a framework Chaka had created based on his own journey of healing, touring, and reconnecting to spirit and body. It’s rooted in lived experience, and grounded in the understanding of a decolonized mindset and the importance of not spiritually bypassing. It’s not just drumming – it’s a tool for rhythm-based therapy, embodied presence, and remembering who we are underneath the noise.
This journey will take approximately 3h so please bring water to have with you for your journey. Starts at 11:30 in the Sparring Arena on Sunday 27th July
The experience is free to join if you have your own drum or you can either borrow or purchase a drum to join. The fee for the plain Shamanic drum will be refunded upon returning the drum in full working order to the entrance tent. If you wish to keep it instead, you are welcome to do so. The fee you pay for this drum is refundable upon return to the tickets tent or a purchase if you do not return the drum. some drums are available only as a purchase. You must hold a valid Festival ticket for the day you are joining the SURUNA drumming circle. You cannot attend any workshops or participate in any activities without a ticket that gains you entrance to the festival on the given day.
