Woodworking/Carving  Workshop

Unleash your creativity and connect with centuries-old Viking craftsmanship in our immersive workshop using traditional tools for carving and working with wood. You'll be shown how to and guided in carving your own tradition Kuksa (Viking Bowl) This hands-on experience is perfect for both beginners and seasoned woodworkers eager to hone their skills using traditional hand tools, just as the Norse artisans did long ago.

Guided by Practiced Woodworkers: Learn from experienced craftsmen steeped in the ancient traditions. You’ll receive step-by-step guidance tailored to your skill level, with a strong emphasis on creativity and the spirit of exploration as you carve your way to mastery.

Rustic Hand Tools: Feel the power of tradition in your hands as you work with classic hand tools like carving knives, gouges, and augers. Experience the deep satisfaction of shaping wood, just as Norse artisans have done for generations, turning raw materials into something both functional and beautiful.

Quality, Local Wood: Each participant will begin with a carefully selected piece of local wood, chosen for its strength, beauty, and workability. Discover the unique grain and character of your wood as you transform it into a Viking-inspired bowl, each cut revealing the soul of the tree it came from.

Craft Your Legacy: Whether your style leans toward the rustic charm of a Viking feast or the refined elegance of a Norse Jarl's hall, you’ll have the freedom to carve a bowl that reflects your personal vision and style.

SylvanKin embraces the journey as much as the destination, ensuring a unique experience no matter your skill level. Immerse yourself in the meditative process of traditional wood carving, where each cut brings you closer to creating a piece that echoes the craftsmanship of the Vikings.

Craft Outdoors, Like a True Norseman: We strive to conduct our workshops in the open air, where you can relax and unwind in a serene, supportive environment that fosters creativity and calm, just as the Vikings did in their rugged landscapes.

Embrace the rich history of woodworking and gain a deep appreciation for the tools and techniques passed down through the ages, from the hands of ancient Norse craftsmen to yours.

Join us for this one-of-a-kind workshop and leave with more than just a beautifully carved wooden bowl—you’ll gain a deeper connection to the art of woodworking, the joy of creating something with your own hands, and an experience you’ll never forget.
